Laundry was born out of a passion for life and it’s many pleasures - music, good company, food and drinks. Laundry is also firm supporter of the local music scene as well as international artistes looking for a platform to share their love with the world. As a bar and lounge, Laundry is the ideal place to catch up with friends over a couple of drinks and a bite to eat. Laundry was established in the year 2006 under its corporate brand, Chaswood Resources Sdn Bhd. Inspired by the motto ‘It’s a Bar Not a Revolution’, Laundry is your funky neighbourhood bar where ‘everybody knows your name’.

Laundry aims at creating an alternative habitat to those who enjoy a cozy trendy bar with friends and family. Petrina Roach Reddy, the designer behind the creative concept of Laundry, was inspired to create a unique ‘house feel’ ambience - designed to the total comfort and enjoyment of its patrons.

Laundry is reputed for being at the forefront of indie music and has created a platformfor performances of its genre. Laundry aims at showcasing Malaysia’s music scene to the world by building and supporting the local and regional talents in music, art, film and other creative industries.

It’s a dream come true for aspiring Malaysian musicians to showcase their talents as Laundry Bar focuses on local artistes and musicians’ performances.

Amongst successful gigs held at laundry are the Rainforest Music Festival, Malaysian Drum Circle, ‘One Buck Short’, DJABE with Steve Hackett, Colby Callait and ‘MoonShine’ just to name a few.

‘MoonShine, a Homemade Acoustic Variety Show and is a collaborative piece with some of Malaysia’s most talented singer-songwriter like Reza Salleh. ‘MoonShine’ is held on the second Thursday of every month at Laundry. Moonshine nights begin with the showcase of Malaysia’s upcoming new talents such as Isaac Entry, Kokokiana, Najwa, Bo Bedroom, Paulo Delfino to name a few followed by the performances of existing talents who have already carved their names in the music industry like Mia Palencia, . ‘Moonshine’ night ends with an open mic encouraging people to let down their hair and perform on stage. You can sing, you can dance – at Laundry; we enjoy watching people getting creative!

Laundry also supports the local independent film industry such as ‘Kami’ in 2008, produced by Red Comm; the upcoming Evolusi KL Drift 2 (2009), directed by Yusuf Haslam. Event launches of such independent films are occasionally held at Laundry where exclusive previews infused with music performances and celebrities add to the already diversified portfolio of the bar.

Laundry is the ultimate night-scene for urban folks to get together and make new friends. Since its establishment, Laundry has successfully showcased the best of the best within the many music genres with phenomenal gigs by unique, top quality bands, local and international Deejays.
