DJ MuNKaY
MuNKaY or Kay hails from Kuala Lumpur and is currently based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. His passion for music was cultivated since the young age of 4 after being exposed to rock n roll songs at home everyday from his elder brothers. Since then, music has been in his blood through the exposure of many different music background growing up which transcends many creativity along the way.

While monkeying around clubs during his teenage days, he stumbled upon the word of mixing and decided to pick up the art of mixing due to his love for music.

In 2009, he purchased the pioneer decks from his savings and has never looked back ever since! You can say that was his best investment ever. Then, determined to master the art of mixing, he set up a simple room in his apartment and practiced on his own all day as a hobby.

He decided to take DJ-ing to the next level by spinning alongside his mentor at a club in KK and at private parties, throwing some cheeky tunes and jumpy vibrations on the dance floor.

Influenced and inspired by many Dirty Dutch/House DJs around and this includes Afrojack, Chuckie, Sidney Samson, Laidback Luke etc.

MuNKaY’s primary goal once he gets established is to collaborate with other DJs, with venues and event organizers, and with House and Electronica fans to help the local indie dance scene explode.
