DJ Interview
Ze!'s Pal Jamain MC Heads to Malaysia

Jamain MC

Perth has been the centre of all things musical over the past week. With the One Movement festival now drawing to a close, all eyes are on the number of talented artists which wowed audiences over the past five days. Emerging Malaysian talent Ze!, who has captured vast amounts of spotlight locally surrounding her debut trip to Perth, last night surprised her audience with a special treat; friend and fellow artist Jamain MC took to the stage, pumping up the crowd for what eventuated in a spectacular performance.

Jamain MC is not new to the stage. Bursting onto the scene in Los Angeles in late 2008, alongside local powerhouse DJ Loli, Jamain was an instant hit in the states, and performed at a number of high profile clubs, events and festivals. Collaborating with DJ Loli, she released her debut single “Little Messed Up”, which rose to the top twenty of the Beatport Indie NuDisco charts. After six months in the states she packed her bags and returned to her hometown of Perth, focusing on consolidating on her success in the Australian market.

Things have not slowed since. Earlier this year Jamain was featured on the Ministry of Sound Vicious Cuts 2010 CD, with her single “Do I Move Too Fast”. Accompanying this, a number of tours throughout Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia have kept the local MC on her toes, and at the height of her game. Now, she is only days from the release of her first solo single, which will take place during a three week tour of Malaysia during the end of October. Part of her tour will include another performance alongside pal Ze!, which is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

The long-anticipated release entitled Summerdays, boasts a catchy pop melody, accompanied by Jamain’s feisty, raw rhymes. Overlain with vocals by local talent Olivia Reeves, the song epitomises a modern summer’s day. It’s the type of track that has the potential to characterise a particular point in time. That time is now. The 2010/2011 summer is near upon us, and Summerdays is set to seal a spot in what music this summer means.

Jamain leaves Perth next Thursday, and will be spending just under three weeks doing interviews, gigs, and festivals throughout Malaysia, all in support for the release of her latest single.
