CHOONS AWARDS 2009 aims to push the boundaries of high quality local production and encourage more talents to step in to studio work with the aim of pushing Malaysians out into the international circuit.

The awards including online voting for the DJ / Club categories of CHOONS AWARDS 2008/09 as below beside Producer Of The Year 2009.

• Best Club Night Of The Year 2008/09
• Best House DJ Of The Year 2008/09
• Best Drum ‘n’ Bass DJ Of The Year 2008/09
• Best HipHop,R&B & Soul DJ Of The Year 2008/09
• Best Resident DJ Of The Year 2008/09
• Best New DJ Of The Year 2008/09 (DJing experience below 18 months)
• Best Live Act Of The Year 2008/09

Choons Awards 2009 will be presented on 13th June, 2009 at Raw Bar (Solaris, Mont Kiara, KL). LIVE activities on that day will include an Ableton Workshop, a LIVE demonstration of Traktor Scratch Pro, LIVE Visual and Motion Graphic display and of course, a mama of a party with LIVE performances of percussionists/drummers by Tugu Drummers and headline sets by some of the cream of the KL clubbing scene, including DJs Mac (dnb), Funk.K, DJ Fono, VJ PerezOldSkool. The night will be hosted by Prem & Jules of Fly FM.
